During the drilling process, there has been no good solution to the scraping of drilling fluid adhered to the outer wall of the drill rod during drilling. At present, 80% of drilling teams manually scrape off the drilling fluid adhering to the outer wall of the drill rod when pulling out, which not only increases the labor intensity of the fitters inside and outside the drill floor, but also makes it difficult to scrape it clean. The drilling fluid scraped off falls on the flat surface of the drilling platform, which is dirty and slippery, making it unsafe to work on, and the waste of drilling fluid is also serious. For this reason, our factory has developed a specialized mud scraper for oilfield well repair machinery, which effectively solves the problem of scraping off drilling fluid adhering to the outer wall of the drill rod.

1. The contact between the scale layer and the surface of the drill pipe generates three interrelated local corrosion types (oxygen supply difference micro cell corrosion, galvanic corrosion, and crevice corrosion), which can corrode the drill rod. Significantly reduces the service life of drill rods, lowers construction progress, and increases Horizontal Directional Drilling(HDD) costs.

The working principle of the HDD Rod Wipers r is that the outer wall scraper of the Drill Rod mainly uses a slide to support the HDD Rod Wipers, so that the HDD Rod Wipers slides along the slide. Under the action of a double acting cylinder and spring, the mud scraper is tightly attached to the annular outer wall of the drilling rod that is lifted upwards from the well. The mud scraper will scrape off the drilling fluid on the outer wall of the raised drill pipe, making the outer wall of the lifted Drill Rod column clean and free of drilling fluid pollution to the environment. Its feature is that there are several through-holes on the metal recycling tray for mud recovery, and a “wall” on the outer edge to prevent mud from overflowing outside the well and falling objects from falling into the well. The pressure plate and bolts are mainly used to fix the HDD Rod Wipers, and the HDD Rod Wipers ring is a replaceable component. The HDD Rod Wipers is placed on the drill rod to clean the mud.
