HDD Mud Pump used to positive circulation drilling, the surface flushing medium – water, mud, or polymer flushing fluid – will be directly pump to the bottom of the drill bit through high-pressure hoses, and the center drilling hole of the drill string under a certain pressure, in order to cool the drill bit, remove the drilling cuttings, and take them out of the underground. The pressure of the HDD Mud Pump depends on the depth of the borehole, the resistance of the channel through which the flushing fluid passes, and the properties of the flushing fluid being transported. The deeper the drilling, the greater the pipeline resistance and the higher the required pressure.
As the diameter and depth of the borehole change, it is required that the HDD Mud Pump displacement can also be adjusted at any time. A gearbox is installed in the HDD Mud Pump mechanism or its speed is adjusted by a hydraulic motor to achieve the purpose of changing the displacement. In order to accurately grasp the changes in Mud Pump pressure and displacement, a flow meter and pressure gauge should be installed on the HDD Mud Pump, so that drilling personnel can understand the operation of the HDD Mud Pump at any time. At the same time, the pressure changes can be used to determine whether the condition inside the hole is normal to prevent accidents inside the hole.

HDD Mud Pump is made of cylinder liner, cylinder head sleeve, cylinder head, pull rod, piston, piston pressure plate, cup, piston seat, piston rod, plunger rod, inlet and outlet valve, valve seat, crosshead, crosshead sliding sleeve, crosshead pin shaft, crankshaft, connecting rod, connecting rod upper and lower bearing, connecting rod copper sleeve, connecting rod screw and nut, crown nut, skeleton oil seal, O-ring seal, bearing and matching gears, shaft, etc.

HDD Mud Pump has two types: Piston Mud Pump or Plunger Mud Pump.
HDD Mud Pump is driven by an Engine to rotate the crankshaft of the HDD Mud Pump. The crankshaft then drives the piston or plunger through the crosshead to perform reciprocating motion in the HDD Mud Pump cylinder.
With the alternating action of the suction and discharge valves, HDD Mud Pump can compressing and circulating cleaning fluid.
